Can Malaysia Truly Change?

Recently I have told a few friends that if I were to choose a political party that I would be interested in serving, it would definitely be MCA. Frankly, it is not as bad a party as some chinese would disasterously describe. For example, look at all the work that has been accomplished by Datuk Michael Chong. There could be more than one Michael Chong in Malaysia and so far no person from the Pakatan Rakyat has proven their worth.

Sultan of Perak To Decide Once Again

It seems that the ultimate conclusion to this whole saga would once again fall on the Sultan’s hand. As former Mentri Besar, Mohd Nizar has seek a royal audience to inform the Sultan of the motions passed at a supposedly emergency assembly which was held under a tree 200 metres away from State Secretariat building.

Now, I am not well verse in constituitional law and henceforth I should not comment if the above is done rightly so or it is just playing on assumption of intepretation of laws.

But in any regard, the previous PR state government calling for a state dissolution is a good call as it will eventually shift the entire focus back to the rakyat and let the rakyat once again speak on this issue. Afterall, Perak has not only been a media circus for the past few months, in that it may eventually be used in many other places, not just Malaysia as a reference on how things will be resolved if such political impasse were to happen once again.

A Day Of Shame For Malaysia

Shame, shame, shame on Malaysia. My blog, to be honest has so far been 70% in support of Barisan Nasional, in particular MCA, given my racial background. Maybe 30% or so towards DAP and PAS, with 0% for Keadilan.

But so shameful was yesterday’s display by UMNO Youth, that prompted me to write against BN. In the past, BN has been calling others names. Like “pendatang” or “leaking” or other choice words which has since been withdrawn by the MP in question. But fact remains that, whatever happened, should be taken care of professionally. Everything has rules. Everything has a remedy. But fistfighting and confrontation are definitely not part of the rules.

The Legal Tussle In Perak - What Happened To The Rakyat?

It is rather interesting to see politicians on both side of the fence playing the greyest areas of law and see who will win the control of the state. No doubt BN has the greater numbers of assemblymen and women who would vote them into power. However as the assembly is not in any session, so there was nothing BN could do to officially topple the previous PR government.

The speaker exercised one of its rare power and suspend the supposedly new MB and exco members. In this instance, if the assembly were to convene, then unfortunately for the BN, PR is able to vote itself in again and hence the swearing in ceremony.
