Malaysia - World’s Number One Underground Economy

Every country has an underground economy. It is a matter of how big it is. It is interesting to see Malaysia’s GDP or GNP or whatever economic measuring tools you use is only 10% of its neighbour Singapore but yet the people living in Malaysia can be seen driving nice big cars, live in big houses and fly around the region. Unbelievable? No wonder even newspapers around Malaysia recently claimed how Hillary Clinton has said that US are willing to learn from Malaysia and another proudly claimed that Obama salutes our PM. Come to think of it, besides being near to his childhood home of Indonesia, I doubt he will remember anything about Malaysia.

Exporting The Old Folks To Johor Bahru

There was this massive hoo haa when Singapore Health Minister suggested perhaps Singapore may have to lower cost alternatives for their senior citizens. This had led to many discussion both on and off line about how the government has been so blind as to send the people who build up the country away.

Human beings have always been a funny kind. I get many nasty comments in the past because for one I do not think like any other human being and that made me unique. Majority of people are like in a herd. They follow blindly what others say without even studying the facts.

Air Asia - The Big Winner In Mini Budget

It is rather interesting to note that one of the biggest winners in the recent mini-budget as announced by our current Finance Minister is Air Asia.

Like I have said in my past posts, Air Asia may had been calling bluff in their previous KLIA @ East proposal whereby they would eventually be “forced” to accept a “good for all parties” solution at a specifically designed terminal with tax payers money. I was quite right when Najib announced a RM2billion funding for the building of a new LCCT terminal which could easily last Air Asia for the next decade.

Kugan - A Villian Who Became A Hero.. Disgusting!

I note with interests that there are some blogs who championed the issue of Kugan to the extent that from an unknown car thief to become a pillar, a hero where ordinary folks take interests in death in custody.

For once, people have came out and said that regardless of who Kugan is, we should have given him equal rights like you and me should we be ever incarcerated. Many may have easily forgotten about the crimes that Kugan had committed. I am not certain if carjacking is one of them. Nor am I sure if he had ever do other more terrifying crimes for that matter. So now a villian’s family can sue the government for damages. And what better timing after HINDRAF issue has die down to use another character to politically assassinate the ruling government. Occassionally it is underhand methods like these being used by some quarters of the oppositions which would make me think twice about voting for them in the coming election.

NTU Singapore Poorly Handled Student’s Scholarship

Having read a few mainstream media news report, I found it disturbing to see how a talented students though dropping in grades, would stab an innocent professor and then killing himself. It is not uncommon to hear of school students jumping to their deaths in already pressurised Singapore education system.

I had once personally tried and obtained the prestigious ASEAN scholarship but instead decided not to take up the offer where I later spend most of my secondary education in Australia. I have seen examples of how these students would have no other life other than studying and turning out really nerdy at the end of the road.

Yves Saint Laurent - Supporter of Human Rights and Thieves

It is amazing how I could title this post that way. In order to support the thieves, then one cannot be a supporter of human rights. Because by supporting human rights, one will have to consider the fact that a party is being made poorer (thus losing their rights) by another party.

Yves Saint Laurent estates stated that the only condition they impose with the returning of stolen two zodiac animals bronze sculpture that their previously criminal soldiers stole from the Summer Palace of China is for China to recognise Dalai Lama. This is a VERY DANGEROUS statement.

Chua Soi Lek - He Has To Go?

It is interesting how at the end of the day some one year after his initial debacle that saw him resigning and then winning the hearts of MCA members to come back a hero. But yet, the powers that is decided that his political career must end, no matter how much the people wants him.

I have on many instances jump to support both Datuk Chua and Elizabeth Wong in their sagas. Perhaps Elizabeth Wong is under a lot of pressure to quit as part of a deal which would see the issue die down. Although both from different side of the fences, both are facing the same issue. Datuk Chua did not go down quietly. He did on surface but only to resurface at the most important time and then showing Malaysia that he has been the chosen one.
